Pricing Manager

The objective of the Pricing Manager is to understand the needs of the local market and ensure that a relevant assortment is offered by executing the Local Assortment Plan. The ASM is coordinating the actions of the Local Assortment Plan, actively supporting the pricing and marketing processes and gathering and assessing market information in cooperation with the global Product Management team.

What is your role?

The Local Pricing Manager executes pricing strategies for their country and makes sure these are aligned with the local commercial strategy. The Local Pricing Manager is responsible for local price levels and reviews market trends to help determine the optimal price segmentation on a local level. 
On the Assortment Manager side, she/he links Sales and Product Management, is in charge of understanding customer needs in terms of product ranges and prices and ensures a market-fit product offering. Actively participates in pricing/marketing processes in accordance with established rules.


Your Specific Tasks Include

1. Develop and own the Local Assortment Plan, in cooperation with the local commercial director and in alignment with the Global Product Group Plan.

2. Executing the Pricing Strategy by:

-Ensuring and improving price setting of the whole product assortment by using relevant tools and applications.
-Maintaining discount settings and giving feedback on gross prices.
-Assisting in creating promotional campaigns, comparing prices set by competitors and considering customer satisfaction. 
-Conducting regular pricing reviews with Local Sales to give advice on optimal price settings on a local level.

3. Identifying target market pricing to optimize local price levels by:

-Analyzing data and evaluating price sensitivity and elasticity.
-Doing market research for new and existing products by initiating price comparisons.
-Conducting surveys and desk research; evaluating customer and competitor trends to determine the optimal product price range.

4. Assortment

-Specifying market requirements and creating business cases for current and future products by gathering market information and monitoring trends and developments.
-Discuss the local Assortment needs with the Product Manager to ensure the assortment fits to the market and ensuring the necessary service level.
-Executing product life cycle management according to the KPI’s.
-Cooperation with Product Management and Procurement to align corporate and local assortment and provide market information to support the creation of initial sales forecast and implement initial price setting.
-Ensure Product Compliancy on specific local laws and regulations (e.g. waste management)

5. Marketing

-Responsible for creating the local Go to Market (GTM) strategy for the product portfolio, in line with the commercial strategy, and align with local marketing team on execution and analysis of country-level promotional activities and product launches.
-Support supplier marketing program with local trade brand to drive trial of product and/or product awareness.
-Collaborating with digital commerce team, while making use of Web Analytics to make data based decisions.

6. Cooperation

-Strong collaboration with the International Pricing Manager to align the international pricing strategy on a local level in order to optimize turnover and profit.
-Cooperates with the DC&T Pricing team on improving tooling and dashboarding, solving complaints and analyzing data.
-Acts as a first point of contact for the local sales team and local marketing team in all pricing connected topics and train them to develop understanding of pricing and assortment strategy.
