Category Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated and capable Category Manager to join the Category Product Management team to help drive innovation in this space. As a Category Manager for the product category PowerSolutions, you contribute to the development and maintenance of the different global product ranges in the product category, with a focus on the assortment in mechanical transmission. 

You will collaborate with business units across the organisation. In your position, you have the opportunity to run your product line as if it were your own business. You report directly to the Head of Category.

Your role

• Defining and maintaining product specifications and indicating critical specifications for the product quality;
• Monitoring the product category and giving recommendations to adjust parameters in order to optimize the product group in terms of Product Life Cycle (PLC), relevancy and profitability;
• Making sure that assortment is compliant to all regulations; 
• Gathering information for price benchmarking;
• Gathering market information and monitoring trends and developments by research and analyze product related data concerning (new) products leading to viable business cases;
• Maintaining specific product market knowledge to ensure long term relevancy of the product portfolio;
• Cooperating with cluster Assortment Managers to ensure a relevant (local) assortment;
• Supporting and contributing to creation and execution of the product plan;
• Setting up and maintaining (product) communication towards relevant stakeholders;
• Organizing internal trainings for different levels, e-learning and new configurator solutions to reach the required service level for the product category group to support sales goals.

Who are you?

• Bachelor degree in a technical or commercial discipline;
• At least 5 years of experience in Product / Category Management in an international wholesale organisation;
• Good Product and Market (Agricultural) knowledge;
• Ability to skillfully analyse financial data, with passion for accuracy and getting details right;
• Strong presentation and communication skills;
• Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams in a multicultural environment.
